How to Use HashPack Wallet: Complete Beginner's Guide

What Is HashPack?

HashPack is the most popular wallet for the Hedera ecosystem. It's a non-custodial wallet — meaning you control your private keys, not a third party. HashPack lets you store HBAR (Hedera's native cryptocurrency), interact with decentralized applications (dApps), and manage your Hedera account.

If you want to use iBird or any other Hedera dApp, you need a Hedera wallet. HashPack is the recommended choice — it's well-maintained, user-friendly, and integrates with WalletConnect for mobile support.

Step 1: Install HashPack

Desktop (Browser Extension)

1. Open the Chrome Web Store (also works for Brave, Edge, and other Chromium browsers)
2. Click "Add to Chrome"
3. Pin the extension to your toolbar for easy access

Mobile (iOS / Android)

1. Download HashPack from the App Store or Google Play
2. Open the app and follow the setup wizard

Step 2: Create a New Wallet

1. Open HashPack and click "Create New Wallet"
